During the 2025 Vinayakar Chaturthi festival, the Khairatabad Ganesha in Hyderabad, Telangana, was the largest public Ganesha idol constructed in India.

The reported weight of 50 to 70 tonnes was arrived at by calculating the raw materials used in construction:
Structural Steel Framing: 30 tonnes of welded iron rods and steel channels forming the internal frame.
River Clay: 1,000 bags (~30 tonnes) of organic clay.
Sand & Soil: 20 tonnes of fine sand mix.
Paddy Straw & Husk: 70+ bags of paddy straw and rice husk used for binding.
